Hi, LEDs!
I am almost done with Cross Country season. And, no, that is not exciting news. This means, I must do more real runs on my own (no more 3/4 miles!) and take the initiative to not lose all my progress. I have run 7.5 miles in Cross Country meets so far and I don't want to lose one ounce of that muscle!
I am the fittest and happiest than I have ever been on average before. I am making healthy (yet delicious) food choices, such as all-fruit smoothies for dessert and veggies and hummus for lunch. It's wonderful! For my conference meet, where the top 10 competitors receive medals, I am hoping to not make an unreasonable goal (such as being Top 5). Although it would be freakishly amazing to do that, it's a little impossible because this event is only two weeks away. Instead, I will try for top 50out of (approximately) 70 6th grade girls. It will be amazing to finish like that. I started this year being out of breath at 1/2 a mile, but now I can run two miles easily. I hope to do with a 5k with my devoted training partner... A.K.A. my dog.
We are the perfect running pals and, thanks to this chart, I discovered that my pitbull-Rat/Jack Russell Terrier mix should be able to do a 5K with me! All of the breeds in my little doggie-mashup are great, high-energy dogs. The chart explains that his pitbull side should be great at a brisk run (under 10K, which will obviously be more than fine) and his terrier side will be able to do a long steady run. Pitbulls are in the terrier group, so I guess we'll just know that Bigby can do a good 5K. Wish us luck--once we enter one!
Keep
