Hey, guys! It's the day after 4th of July here, and I'd love to just give you guys a list of why I love 4th of July.
1. Firework Shows! I LOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEE firework shows! Sometimes people in our neighborhood will set off really loud fireworks even after 4th of July, and Bigby and Krypto (my dogs) will go crazy. But, I really love the professional firework shows. I normally go to my cousin's house and we go watch the fireworks in the parking lot of the high school down the block. It's fun every year!
2. Parties! Parties are great and I always have a great time. Parties are also the things I remember the most about the summer. Everyone loves a great party that screams 'SUMMER!'
3. Family! Like I said, I go to my cousin's house every year on July 3rd to watch fireworks, anticipating the next day. We normally have an epic basketball game in his driveway with my other cousins and then walk down the block to the firework show. 4th of July, in my mind, is also a reflection of family.
4. Friends! We host breakfast every 4th of July and then we walk (three houses) down the block to the corner to watch the parade with friends. Yesterday, one of the families who came for breakfast came over again and we had a total last-minute barbeque that evening. That's the great thing about my neighborhood, we're very close and we get together for spur-of-the-moment summer barbeques!
5. Patriotism! Yup, of course, patriotism is one of my favorite things about fourth of july. One of my favorite lines in my new song that I wrote, Summer Night, I talked from the heart about our country:
" Free home
forever, and we’re reminded of our country, we’ll go on walking humbly,"
I hope you enjoyed your 4th of July, and continue loving our country.
Love
Always
Always
